Installing Quickclip
Installing QuickClip is childsplay. Download the setup file from the homepage (Download section) and doubleclick the setup icon. Setup will now begin.
The first step of the setup process allows you to select your preferred setup language. Note that QuickClip will auto-detect your Windows versions' language and use that instead, so this setting only applies to the setup process.
Click OK to continue. Click Next to begin the setup process. Select the location where you would like to install QuickClip (we recommend using the default setting) and click Next again.
The setup process will now ask for the type of installation you would like to perform. Available types are 'Full' and 'Custom'. The 'full' installation type will install QuickClip and all other files. The 'custom' installation type allows you to customize the files installed. If you uncheck any option the installation type will be set to 'custom' automatically.
When you click Next you will be asked for a name for the group that will be created in your Windows' start menu. We recommend you use the default setting.
Click Next again.
Setup now asks if you want QuickClip to launch every time you launch Windows. By default this option is disabled but you might want to consider enabling this option. Don't worry, you can use the 'Launch with Windows' option in QuickClip later on should you change your mind and want to enable or disable this option.
Click Next again. Setup will now show an overview of tasks to be executed. Click Install to begin installing QuickClip. Setup should now show any progress in a progressbar.
When setup finishes it offers one final option to you; it will ask you whether or not to start QuickClip immediately. Uncheck the checkbox if you do not want to start using QuickClip right away. We recommend leaving the checkbox checked. Click Finish to exit setup.
If you chose to run QuickClip immediately, QuickClip should now start. If you did not, you can start QuickClip any time by starting it from your Windows' start menu.
QuickClip will now prompt for a username and password. If you already have an account you can enter your username and password and click Login. New users need to create (and confirm) a new account first.
When your account has been created and confirmed you can start to use QuickClip. You are allowed to have more than one account (like a personal account and a businessaccount) but remember that when using QuickClip it will login to the account you logged in with most recently. You can press CTRL-L to change the current account.
Upgrading QuickClip
Upgrading QuickClip is as easy as installing it. When you downloaded a new version (did you notice the 'Check for updates online' option in the QuickClip menu?) and want to upgrade, you can run the setup in the same way as you did to install QuickClip.
There is, however, a catch. Setup cannot overwrite files that are in-use. Setup might detect that QuickClip is already running, preventing setup to overwrite it's files. When setup detects QuickClip is running it will notify you and tell you to quit QuickClip. All you need to do is click 'Exit' from QuickClip's menu and retry.
Uninstalling QuickClip
To remove (uninstall) QuickClip, open your Windows' start menu and locate the QuickClip group. Next, click 'Uninstall QuickClip'. Should you not be able to find it, then open Windows' control panel and locate the Add/remove software icon. Double click it and select QuickClip. Next click 'Remove' and follow the uninstaller's instructions.
Again, setup might tell you QuickClip is already running, preventing setup to remove it's files. When this happens setup will notify you and tell you to quit QuickClip. Click 'Exit' from QuickClip's menu and retry.

Did you know...?
- To exit/quit QuickClip you can click the Exit option in the systray menu, or you can click the editors 'close' button (top right corner) while holding the CTRL key.
- You have a Dutch version of Windows and want to use an English version of QuickClip? Exit QuickClip and rename the 'nl' folder in QuickClip's application folder to '_nl' or something similar and restart QuickClip.
- QuickClip stores a few settings in the Windows registry; to be exact: in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Devcorner.nl\QuickClip. You can add a registry setting 'url' (type: string) where you can override QuickClip's default server url. Although the protocol is very simple, it hasn't been documented yet. But you are free to reverse-engineer the protocol and set up your own QuickClip server. If you are unsure about the safety of your data you can use this option and control the server yourself!
